This thangka is a portrait of Padmasambhava, one of the eight transformations of Guru Rinpoche. Padmasambhava performed various miraculous transformations in the Saho country. The king did not recognize his achievements and ordered people to pile up wood and burn him. As a result, the fire turned into a lake, and the firewood turned into a lotus. Guru Rinpoche sat on the lotus with a garland around his neck as a solemn sign, without any damage. At this time, he was called Padmasambhava. The whole thangka has vivid and expressive characters. Padmasambhava is sitting on the Dharma platform, and below are two members of the Six Paths listening to the Dharma. Listen to Guru Rinpoche’s Dharma.
