This statue is extremely rare because it is a standing statue of Padmasambhava. Commonly found on the market is a seated statue. Padmasambhava, one of the greatest achievers in the history of Indian Buddhism, is the patriarch of the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism. According to the Tantric classics, Lotus Sang is the incarnation of Amitabha Buddha, Guanyin Bodhisattva, and Shakyamuni Buddha's body, mouth, and mind corresponding to the three kinds of incarnation. He personally manifested the true meaning of non-birth and non-destruction and descended into the world for the benefit of all beings in the world.
This statue shows the upright and majestic image of Padmasambhava through his standing posture. The whole body is made of yellow Lima copper casting, the copper is lustrous. The face has been remodeled in modern times with gold clay.
The master wears a crown and has a deep gaze; his face is round and serious. The overall posture is vivid and natural. In his left hand, he holds a gabala bowl, and in his right hand, he holds a vajra mortar and pestle. The large flower dangles are worn on his ears and hang down over his shoulders. He is wearing three layers of vestments with natural and flowing patterns. The lotus seat below is in a rare realistic style. The lotus petals are full and well modeled, with a great deal of tension.
The whole work is exquisite and well-preserved, showing the compassion and generosity of Padmasambhava. This standing statue is inherited from Nyingma Ri Rang Monastery and extremely rare.
