About the Design

It is drawn on and worn at the throat through the whole day — one bead on a dark cord, present without requiring attention.
The centerpiece is a Five Eye Dazi Bead, made using the ancient Tibetan agate craft that has been practiced on the plateau without interruption since before written record. The bead is long and cylindrical, its surface carrying five cream eyes set in precise formation against deep black-brown agate — a configuration long recognized across Tibet as among the most considered arrangements in the Dazi tradition. Two small gold-plated rings hold it level on the black wax cord. The cord adjusts with a sliding knot.
The bead is dense and smooth. It sits horizontal and cool at the base of the throat.

The five eyes face outward in both directions. The gold rings catch light only at a particular angle — otherwise the piece reads as entirely dark.
