The Butter Lamp Festival is an important celebration in Tibetan Buddhism, honoring the great master Je Tsongkhapa. On this day, thousands of butter lamps are lit inside and outside monasteries, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance with light and praying for wisdom and compassion to illuminate the world. The long-burning lamps carry deep aspirations for health, peace, and fulfillment.

Our team recently arrived at Sera Monastery in Lhasa, Tibet, during the sacred Butter Lamp Festival. As night fell, the halls and courtyards of the monastery glowed with flickering lamps, while solemn chants echoed in the air, carrying the gentle scent of butter and juniper. We walked slowly among pilgrims, immersed in reverence and tranquility.

Guided by the monks, we lit ten butter lamps for each participating client in their name. The dancing flames resembled stars descended to earth—warm and bright. The prayer notes left by each guest have been solemnly kept by the monastery. These butter lamps will remain continuously lit at Sera Monastery and will receive daily sutra recitations and blessings from the presiding lama. This blessing, originating from the sacred land of snow, will transform into a continuous stream of energy, carried through chants and lamplight, flowing steadily to you from afar.

Moreover, in the spirit of universal goodwill, Kailash Energy has also offered prayers for all beings under heaven—including every one of you reading this message. Though the light and warmth of each lamp may seem modest, we pledge to participate in this prayer ceremony monthly, allowing this intention and energy to accumulate like a gentle stream, softly flowing to your side.

May the lamps illuminate the path ahead, and may the sutras bring peace to the heart.
