This is a five-pronged Vajra demon subduing bell that was carried by Manchu workers from Tibet in the Qing Dynasty. The Vajra Bell is a commonly used instrument in Tibetan Buddhism. The Vajra Bell represents "wisdom". In Dharma practice, it is mainly used to encourage all living beings to make progress, to alert and to persuade Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.

When the bell is shaken, the sound can break away the internal demons and external demonic obstacles of foolishness and delusion.
